Welcome to Greenfields

…our residential home for people with learning disabilities. It’s a wonderful community where service users can thrive and flourish with the support of a dedicated team of staff.

We take full advantage of the local amenities and play an active role in the local community. We encourage service users to see Greenfields as a base from which they can go out and participate in external activities such as going for a stroll in the park or taking part in a dance club. Greenfields has a busy programme of excursions, which we encourage all services users to play an active role in planning.

We enjoy close relationships with local support agencies and work with health and social care professionals as part of each service user’s care plan. We’re committed to empowering each and every person who chooses Greenfields to help shape the way we deliver our services.

Feedback on our work is vital to us, so we seek out service users’ ideas and suggestions to inform how their care plans are tailored and developed. This engagement also extends to friends and family, who we welcome to Greenfields to take part in many of our social activities.

Staff: Greenfields has a brilliant team of staff which includes a Registered Home Manager, a Deputy Manager, senior support workers and a further team of full and part-time support staff. All team members are trained to meet service users’ needs having completed, or are in the process of completing, an NVQ Level 2 or above.

Facilities

  • Bedrooms: 16 bedrooms, many of which have en-suite bathrooms. 6 additional bathrooms are available as well. There’s a ceiling hoist system fitted in one of the bathrooms to help our physically disabled service users.

  • Kitchen: 3 kitchens which we encourage service users to make the most of. We hold supervised cookery sessions so that service users can do as much of their own cooking as possible: a vital skill for independent living. Many of our residents regularly cook for friends or relatives when they come to visit them.
  • Living and dining area: 3 distinct areas for living/dining. Each living room contains a large flat screen TV, electronic dartboard, music centre, organ and pool table.
  • Garden:3.5 acres of secure grounds with wooden swings, barbecue area, outdoor seating. We’re currently redeveloping our sensory garden which covers around half an acre of the garden, which Greenfields’ service users will help to maintain as part of their horticulture programme.
