Welcome to St Peter’s

St Peter’s care facility for people with learning disabilities is located in the thriving town of Watford.

We firmly believe in an ‘open house’ arrangement here at St Peter’s. Weekends are the best time to visit service users because they’ll have less activities scheduled. We have strong relationships with the friends and relatives of our service users because they play a vital role in helping shape both their loved one’s care pathway. Their input and feedback always raises the bar in terms of the quality of care that we provide. Summer barbecues and the Christmas party are really popular among service users, friends and families because they’re a time for us to celebrate all the achievements of the St Peter’s community.

Activities are a key part of everyday life at St Peter’s. There are a variety of activities which are targeted at serice users individual preferences but we also have group activities to promote socialisation, a favourite is indoor bowling.

St Peter’s takes full advantage that Watford has to offer; it’s a busy town with plenty to do! We regularly do things like go for walks, visit the cinema and read books at the library. Service users can also look forward to holidays to destinations that they’ve chosen as a group. Butlin’s and Disneyland Paris are a couple of places that service users have travelled to.

St Peter’s has close relationships with local agencies focused on helping service users along their care pathways. These include the Community Support Unit, Community Learning Disability Team, Waterside and Balmoral Day Centres and West Hertfordshire College.

Staff:The team at St Peter’s are trained to support service users with complex needs ranging from mental illnesses, autism, epilepsy, challenging behaviour, diabetes and celiac disease. St Peter’s Registered Home Manager has many years of experience, we have a good staff team that try to promote independence in the Service User cohort.
