Welcome to 42 Fairkytes Avenue

This home specialises in caring for people with an Autistic Condition but with other complex needs as well. We have a sensory room and have developed various individually tailored programmes to meet the sensory needs of our Service Users. We have an experienced highly capable team who promote individual choice and are commited to maintaining the dignity agenda.

We work with several local agencies as part of our service users’ care plans and take full advantage of all the amenities that Hornchurch has to offer; Fairkytes Arts Centre, Langton Park and Fielders Sports Ground are all less than a ten-minute walk away. Lots of our service users take part in college courses geared towards their needs so that they can improve their skills and knowledge.

Above all else, our drive is to promote independence. We encourage everyone to learn all the necessary life skills, with our staff team on hand to help service users achieve their full potential.

All service users are encouraged to voice their opinions and ideas on the day-to-day running of 42 Fairkytes Avenue. Engaging and empowering service users to help shape and improve our services are, after all, the key to our on-going success.

  • Bedrooms: 5 bedrooms, 3 of which have en-suite bathrooms.
  • Kitchen: We have a fully fitted spacious kitchen. We encourage service users to pitch in with the preparation of meals.
  • Living and dining areas: The living areas have comfy seating, a TV equipped with DVD player and Wii console as well as a stereo system. Service users love using these areas to socialise and relax with friends and family.
  • Activity room: We have a separate Activity Room in the garden. Service users can go there to use the computer or take part in a variety of other activities that develop their skills and abilities.
  • Garden: A safe and spacious place for a spot of football or a sizzling summer BBQ.

Staff: Fairkytes has a Registered Home Manager, three senior support workers, and four further support workers. During the night, we have one ‘waking night’ and one ‘sleep-in’ staff member. Extra staff are on hand when residents attend outings and medical appointments. All of the Fairkytes team hold, or are in the process of getting, a minimum qualification of NVQ level 2. In addition, staff members have level 3 British Sign Language as well as basic Makaton and PECS skills.
